Responsibilities

The Store Manager 2 will manage and lead in a multiunit capacity, with the ability to multitask and direct a larger team across two store locations.

Provide and model best-in-class guest service: promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Promptly and accurately process guest purchases/return transactions using Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system; provide correct change, bag merchandise, issue receipts, and ensure top notch guest service.

Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally, using the prescribed phone greeting.

Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.

Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates.

Ensure associates have completed onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing a shift; ensure knowledge of all policies, inventory control and loss prevention practices, safety, financial protocol, and ethical responsibilities.

Communicate with store associates and District Manager to implement store initiatives; set guest service expectations and train staff; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers.

Schedule store associates in accordance with guidelines; manage staffing to ensure optimal guest service; provide ongoing coaching and feedback.

Approve payroll, manage PTO, and verify compensation for time worked.

Provide timely recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system.

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.

Ensure Omni-Channel orders are fulfilled and shipped daily.

Perform store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and organize products on the floor.

Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks and manage deposits as required.

Lead the team toward meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties required for goal achievement.

Balance daily transactions in POS; complete closeout paperwork; manage cash and deposits according to guidelines.

Verify shipments and record discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to District Manager.

Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; ensure proper labeling and packing.

Maintain guest and associate safety; report injuries per guidelines.

Maintain neat and organized store records/files; keep manuals up to date.

Build professional partnerships with appropriate military personnel on assigned military bases where applicable.

Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including those in the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 1 year of retail management experience required.

At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform related duties.

On military-base stores: understand military ranks and insignia.
