Overview

Role: General Superintendent. The role will develop and execute the project plan and oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. Responsible for managing the team, planning construction sequencing and meeting project goals, in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision and values. JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team serving large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and promotes an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others. Investigates safety incidents and retrains staff as needed. Manages subcontractors and the overall job workflow; oversees company staff, subcontractors, suppliers and programs such as Safety, Quality and EEO for all project scopes. Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work; coordinates and manages the care, custody and control of the project site. Leads meetings (daily standups, weekly trade meetings) and participates in progress and/or project OAC meetings. Creates and manages the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager; tracks budget and costs using project management tools as needed. Communicates key project information to owners, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers and other departments. Maintains project documentation, updates drawings/logs/diaries/inspection notebooks, and handles unit cost information for weekly reports and daily reports. Evaluates progress on self-perform work and makes adjustments; manages material and equipment needs; supports procurement processes and formwork/tool selection for self-perform operations. Manages timecard approvals to ensure accurate hours and cost codes; ensures quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC and external resources. Supports project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with the owner, architect and authorities. Participates in project pursuit processes and teamwork to develop a project pre-plan and adapt it throughout the lifecycle. Partners with field leadership to establish field staffing; collaborates with project management on schedule and cost changes; participates in negotiations with owners/architects for project changes. Participates in project reviews, buy-out meetings with subcontractors and vendors; understands and applies owner/subcontractor contract terms. Responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent; leads a culture of diversity and inclusion in JE Dunn, upholding non-discrimination policies. Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

Manages the largest, most complex stand-alone or multiple complex projects from planning to completion; provides oversight to multiple projects and project teams. Contributes to development and execution of company and regional strategic initiatives; participates in development of training content and internal subject matter experts. Delivers leadership messaging effectively to multiple internal and external audiences. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong written and verbal communication; proficient in MS Office and project management software (intermediate to advanced as noted). Proficiency in construction management fundamentals, project processes, Lean principles, scheduling software, and factory/self-perform knowledge. Ability to build strong relationships, manage budgets and profitability, and drive future work through relationships. Knowledge of layout, crane signaling/rigging, productivity rates, and labor/potential subcontractor management. Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Experience

12+ years construction experience; 10+ years field supervision experience. Experience leading Lean principles on projects is preferred. Working Environment
