Overview
Assistant Store Manager role at Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona. Location: 2700 W. Baseline, Tempe, Arizona 85283. Starting Pay: $45,000.00 annual.
Responsibilities
Leads the daily operations of the sales floor at a GCNA retail store and its affiliated entities to support the Goodwill mission.
Assists with leading production room as appropriate.
Develops and executes retail operations plans to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production.
Monitors product levels and inventory (floor, as-is, recycle, trash, seasonal back stock) to meet bottom-line sales targets.
Manages payroll costs and operating costs within budget.
Delivers excellent customer service to donors and customers; de-escalates customer situations and finds appropriate solutions.
Maintains clean, well-kept store environments that reflect the Goodwill brand.
Partners with community businesses and organizations to promote the Goodwill mission; acts as a Goodwill ambassador to the community.
Leads day-to-day sales floor operations and ensures Team Members are well-trained and fulfill their duties.
Acts as a key holder, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager.
Processes complex sales transactions, including customer returns, and ensures team members operate per company standards and procedures.
Travels to other GCNA locations as needed to assist stores and attend training and development classes; may transfer to different stores as business needs require.
Collaborates with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, etc.) to achieve business goals and ensure policy compliance.
Builds a high-performing team and is responsible for performance management, staffing, compensation, and development of Team Members.
Drives company culture change efforts and supports change management processes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
One year of retail management experience required
One year of customer service experience required
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for the position
Ability to speak and read English proficiently
