International Position Overview Indirect procurement plays a vital role in maintaining business continuity across the entire organization. Category Manager-Logistics and Distribution , you will ensure alignment with organizational goals and market trends, working within their specific field of responsibility. A successful category manager will develop and implement a strategic sourcing roadmap, supplier negotiations, driving cost reductions, supplier performance management and negotiating and executing agreements. The role involves coordinating global procurement strategies across our Traton and Volkswagen group of brands with a strong focus on North America. Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies to meet organizational goals Supplier Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance while ensuring compliance with standards and contractual obligations Cost Reduction: Identifying and executing opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements Contract Negotiation: Securing favorable terms and conditions through effective contract negotiations Global Coordination: Aligning procurement strategies across different regions and business units within Traton and Volkswagen Innovation and Sustainability: Driving initiatives that promote innovation and sustainability within the procurement process Market Analysis: Research and benchmark market trends specific to your category to understand and effectively communicate cost drivers Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree At least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience 1 year lead experience OR
Master's degree At least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience 1 year lead experience OR
At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience 1 year lead experience Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Demonstrated experience in third party logistics services including, but not limited to warehouse mgmt. services, transportation management software and services, customs and trade compliance services Demonstrated knowledge of North America transportation networks across all modes of transportation Strategic mindset with ability to develop creative solutions to complex problem Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with different functional backgrounds as well as with different business cultures globally Experience with sourcing services, discovering competitive options and leading negotiations Ability to read, understand, and execute commercial agreements and contracts Benefits And Compensation We provide a competitive total rewards package which ensures job satisfaction both on and off the job.
