MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) whose mission is research in support of National Security. The Security Services Department's (SSD) overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the Laboratory\'s mission, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. The department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions to protect facilities against threats, and safeguards personnel, information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies. We foster a culture where security professionals are empowered to solve complex security problems in collaboration with Laboratory research teams and Government counterparts. The department supports flexible schedules and hybrid remote work arrangements where mission needs allow. What will you do?
Lead the Strategy and Program Management Office (SPMO). Manage SSD\'s portfolio of large, high-profile, multi-year, cross-functional, complex Security and Digital Enterprise Transformation (DET) projects. Manage SPMO team members. Direct the development and enhancement of project management methodologies, standards, templates and tools. Oversee execution of projects and portfolio prioritization; provide ongoing reporting of SSD and DET project activities. Focus on continuous improvement to increase efficiencies of security processes internal to the department and externally throughout the Laboratory. Provide leadership of SPMO: ensure alignment with Department and Laboratory strategy, manage staff, advise project managers, handle performance appraisals, support professional development, hiring, capacity management, governance, risk mitigation, and participate in SSD leadership decisions. Provide project stewardship for the SSD portfolio: direct delivery of programs and projects; work with PMs, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure timely, effective execution; manage budget, change management, and risk mitigation. Own portfolio reporting and coordinate with Laboratory stakeholders for prioritization and resource allocation. Collaborate with strategy offices and PMOs across the Laboratory; communicate with stakeholders at all levels. May lead status meetings for major programs and project steering discussions. Oversee continuous improvement of security project management methodologies, including estimation, cost-benefit analysis, and agile delivery. How will you grow?

To work with MITLL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements. Bachelor\'s degree in project management or related field. At least twelve years of relevant work experience as a program/project manager leading enterprise security or technology efforts, including five years in a PMO leadership role; PMP certificate. Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies; knowledge of governance processes and project portfolio tools; excellent leadership and communication skills; experience supervising in a matrix organization; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret level security clearance. Ideally, you will have: Master\'s degree in project management or related field; experience in industrial security, computer science or information systems. Additional PM certifications (e.g., DASM, DASSM, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, PRINCE2, SAFe). Experience with organizational change management models (Prosci, CCMP, etc.). Strong leadership, collaboration, and change management abilities; ability to influence stakeholders and drive results. Significant line management experience and willingness to lead change through relationships.
