Position Summary The Assistant Director of Enrollment at the Graduate School of Social Work reports directly to the Associate Director of Enrollment and Financial Aid and will have first level enrollment duties and responsibilities for main campus, online and Durango Colorado admission and operations functions. Duties include developing original data analyses and assessment tools related to GSSW strategic enrollment initiatives for all program cohorts. The Assistant Director will develop strong relationships with external and internal organizations, GSSW faculty, administrators, students and alumni, and will develop and implement prospective student pipeline initiatives, recruitment operations and yield events.
Responsibilities
Co-manage the overall recruitment, admission selection and yield activities established by the Director.
Read, evaluate and make higher-level admission and financial aid recommendations to the Director.
Develop and implement strategies for using digital tools for virtual outreach, recruitment and yield activities, including initiatives targeting underrepresented populations.
Develop and analyze longitudinal empirical data, reports and surveys to inform and improve conversion rates along the admission funnel.
Work with the Director of Enrollment to develop an annual enrollment plan aligned with GSSW’s strategic goals and review its statistical elements quarterly.
Primary manager for recruiting and enrolling all military veterans.
Provide comprehensive guidance and support to prospective international students throughout the application process, including admission requirements, curriculum plans, and scholarship opportunities.
Advise and engage students on admission and financial aid topics and resources; conduct informational meetings online, on and off campus and answer questions about the admission process, financial aid and the GSSW student experience and career opportunities.
Develop and execute in-state, out-of-state and virtual events in support of recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
Travel is required and the role may require working evenings and weekends to recruit prospective students, review applications, and participate in the Admissions Selection Committee.
SLATE CRM Data Research, Assessment and Analysis
Co-liaison to the Office of Graduate Studies for the technical development and enhancement of SLATE functionality and system performance.
Design and conduct enrollment analytics and reporting tools for visualization of trends in main campus, online and satellite programs.
Design and implement weekly reports with demographic and academic profiles of applicants.
Develop ad hoc historical enrollment trends data reports in Slate and Banner for the Associate Director on demand.
Assist in developing annual qualitative and quantitative reports of final enrollment results relative to the strategic enrollment plan.
Co-manage imports/exports between Banner, Salesforce and SLATE; manage user access requests for GSSW faculty, administrators and students.
Develop technical knowledge of Ellucian Banner, SLATE platform and online enrollment practices through conferences and workshops.
MSW@Denver Online Program – Advanced Standing and Two-Year Cohorts
Be the Enrollment team’s liaison to 2U on enrollment operations and data integration related to GSSW’s online programs.
Co-manage overall admission, selection and yield initiatives; serve as a first-level reader for admissions decisions.
Communications
Collaborate with the Office of Communications to develop and execute digital and SMS campaigns for recruiting and enrolling prospective students across all GSSW programs; analyze campaign effectiveness and conversion along the enrollment funnel.
Supervisory Duties
Supervise a team of student staff and/or Admission Counselor(s).
Other duties as assigned
Oversee daily operations of the admission office as delegated.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups and embrace inclusive excellence principles and values.
Excellent oral and written English skills; ability to present information professionally in various settings; ability to read, analyze and interpret enrollment data and policies; ability to write business correspondence.
Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
Ability to make independent decisions about delegating and coordinating complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
Proficient in Technolutions SLATE, Elucian Banner and Microsoft Excel.
Analytical and quantitative skills with an understanding of highly selective admission processes and online enrollment systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of enrollment experience in a higher education setting
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree and 3 years of graduate enrollment experience at a highly selective college or university
Proficient in Technolutions SLATE and Elucian Banner
Understanding of highly selective admission processes and online enrollment systems
Working Environment
Hybrid standard office environment
Quiet to moderate noise levels
In-state and out-of-state travel
Some evening and weekend work hours
Physical Activities
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
Occasionally required to move about the office/campus
Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
