Open Rank Professor of Public Policy - Social Entrepreneurship, General Faculty. The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia invites applications for an open-rank, non-tenure-accruing faculty position in public policy, on the teaching track, with a focus on social entrepreneurship. Rank will be determined by candidate qualifications. The appointment is expected to begin in Fall 2026. We seek candidates from a range of disciplines, including business administration, business ethics, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, law, management, organizational behavior, political science, or public administration. Responsibilities

Demonstrate the ability to develop and effectively teach courses in social entrepreneurship (broadly defined) at the undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MPP) levels. Contribute to Batten’s mission through service and public outreach and engagement. Engage with the social enterprise community; professional experience in the field is strongly preferred. Collaborate with Batten initiatives and UVA programs such as SE@UVA and UVA Innovates. Qualifications

PhD, or on track to attain the PhD, by August 1, 2026. Applications must be received by October 14, 2025 for full consideration; after which applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Preferred qualifications

Teaching, research, and/or professional experience focusing on social entrepreneurship (broadly defined), including but not limited to: social enterprise, impact investing and innovative finance, design thinking and organizational design, public policy related to social innovation, and technology and AI for Good. Ability to engage with the scholarly community at Batten and UVA; experience with related programs (e.g., SE@UVA, UVA Innovates) is encouraged. Application Instructions
