Job Summary
In this role, you will develop and direct detailed field investigations and conduct special purpose Geology studies. You will prepare construction reports and technical guidelines, develop criteria and standards, perform technical reviews, and attend public meetings. Major Responsibilities
Develops and exercises scientific judgment in the field with respect to site investigations and site geohazards analysis Performs due diligence roles involving oversight of subcontractors in the field Prepares complete geological reports and provides recommendations on foundation remediation or treatment Tracks budget, hours, and schedule of geology tasks. Alerts project to cost/schedule impact of geologic conditions Assists project in the preparation of tender documents and recommends contractors with satisfactory past performance Provides input for detailed scope of geological work Selects subcontractor and laboratory candidates on the basis of qualifications, and participates in bid evaluation Prepares and makes geologic presentations to owner’s groups, consulting board, and project team Administers contracts during geologic site investigations, certifies pay quantities and evaluates (with assistance from supervisor) contractor submittals Administers contracts in the field and complies with schedule milestones Education And Experience Requirements
Requires master's degree in hydrogeology, engineering geology, or other related geosciences discipline and 7-9 years of relevant experience. Required Knowledge And Skills
Proficiency with geology software such as MODFLOW, AQTESOLV, Rocscience suite etc. Proficiency in geological and geotechnical data management and visualization (e.g., Leapfrog, OpenGround, etc.). Engineering in rock (mechanical behavior of geological materials and how they affect engineering design and construction). Experience in managing ground investigations (planning, executing, etc.). Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, computer graphics, and other appropriate computer applications to facilitate the compilation and analysis of data collection activities. Willingness and ability to travel and remain at jobsite for an extended time. Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, planning, and organizational skills. Ability to resolve technical issues with other geologists, suppliers, other engineering disciplines, construction, regulatory agencies, and the client. Total Rewards/Benefits
