In collaboration with supervising physicians, the APP directly manages the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or other communication devices. The APP is an expert in patient care who provides quality care, performs patient assessments, history and physicals, and takes a thorough medical history. The APP can order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, develops medical diagnoses, creates appropriate treatment plans, prescribes medical regimens, and educates patients and families regarding diagnosis and plan of care. May perform approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges. The APP works directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care across the health system. The APP acts as a clinical team leader, intervening and managing deteriorating patients. The APP integrates evidence-based practice and technological advances into practice, may participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice. The APP participates in and facilitates patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay, and improved patient satisfaction. Salary:
Estimated $110,425 - $146,865 per year, depending on experience. Responsibilities

Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests; develop medical diagnoses and treatment plans; prescribe regimens; educate patients and families. May perform approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges. Work with physicians, staff, administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care across the health system. Act as a clinical team leader, intervene and manage deteriorating patients. Integrate evidence-based practice and technological advances; participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of care. Facilitate patient throughput, optimize outcomes and length of stay, and improve patient satisfaction. Qualifications
Qualified APRNs will require : Master’s Degree, valid Florida APRN license, nurse practitioner national certification, DEA license, BLS certification, and 3 years of relevant nursing experience. Must comply with Florida CEU and licensure requirements. Must obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location. If the APRN requires hospital inpatient medical staff privileges and does not have acute care certification, refer to BHSF Policy 701 for credentialing requirements in acute care settings. Qualified PAs will require : Master’s Degree, valid Florida PA license, NCCPA certification, DEA license, and BLS certification. Must comply with Florida CME and licensure requirements.
