Position Summary Works under the limited general direction of a supervisor to support a unit engaged in performing courtroom duties for the Criminal Court Clerk's office. Assignments involve a variety of responsibilities related to the Courtroom including documentation of the case files identification of exhibits and documentation of motions.

Pay Grade: 46

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

Minimum Qualifications

1.Six (6) years of experience performing clerical, statistical or court related duties and utilizing an electronic case management system of which two (2) years are in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND

2.High school diploma or possess a GED.

3.PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leads or guides the work of subordinate employees in the Courtroom Clerk unit.

2. Coordinates planning, scheduling and implementation of work operations in each court with a Courtroom Supervisor.

3. Assists with planning and carrying out the task training of Courtroom employees in coordination with a supervisor.

4. Issues oral and written instructions to subordinate employees when needed.

5. Performs the same duties as subordinates and assists subordinates in performing those duties as needed.

6. Administers the day-to-day work activities of the courtroom.

7. Assists with the responsibilities for the collection of data used to quantify courtroom activities.

8. Prepares and keeps accurate and timely records as needed and directed.

9. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

KSAs

1. Knowledge of administrative functions of the Criminal Court Clerk's Office, policies and practices.

2. Knowledge of procedures and functions of Courtroom Clerks unit.

3. Ability to coordinate and direct the activities of assigned personnel.

4. Ability to deal with co-workers and the public with courtesy and tact.

5. Ability to issue, as well as follow oral and written instructions.

6. Knowledge of the legal documents issued by the court and the practice thereof.

7. Ability to write legibly and maintain an accurate system of records.

8. Ability to write legibly on legal documents and court files.

9. Ability to multitask.

10. Ability to display organization, communication and leadership skills.

11. Knowledge of court documents, motions, etc. and how they are processed in court.

Special Requirements Must be able to work overtime as required.
