Pursuit is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Finance Shared Services to lead our Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll Accounting Teams. This position will be an integral member of the Chief Accounting Officer leadership team and will be responsible for significant change management efforts and other process improvements, as the company works to better serve its partners in operations and throughout the company by assessing and modernizing its procure-to-pay systems, point-of-sale systems, and other technology implementations. This role is also critical in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX.
The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep accounting expertise, and advanced IT system implementation experience in the accounting shared services space – preferably in the hospitality industry.
What will your compensation be?
The salary range for this role is $160,000/year to $190,000/year. This role is eligible for a yearly 20% bonus and annual RSU grant. Pursuit offers a full suite of benefits, including discounts at our hotels, restaurants, and attractions, flexible time off, and a 401k contribution matching plan.
What will you do in this job?
In partnership with the Chief Accounting Officer and other senior leadership, this position is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the key processes of the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll Accounting teams.
Lead and manage the Shared Services teams (3 direct reports, total team ~15), responsible for:
Accounts Payable: Ensure timely and accurate processing, vendor and contract compliance, and continuous process improvement of the Procure-to-Pay process flow to enable strategic outcomes.
Accounts Receivable: Ensure timely billing and collections of outstanding balances, and continuous improvement of the Invoice-to-Cash process flow to improve visibility and decision making.
Payroll: Oversee payroll accounting, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
This position will be a critical thought partner in the Finance IT roadmap project to enable future scalability of the shared service functions.
This position will be responsible for the overall “customer experience” for internal business partners.
Exceptional communication skills are essential for success in this role, as the Director will regularly engage with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
Internal Reporting & KPI Analysis
Key performance indicators and leadership directives will guide your decisions to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Provide guidance on organizations, policies and the way the shared service group will deliver against their transactional and strategic responsibilities in the future based on the overall goals of the organization
Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls; work closely with internal audit and other stakeholders related to recurring controls and new system implementations.
Partner with accounting leadership to design and optimize internal controls, including automation and system improvements.
Leadership & Team Development
Influence and gain alignment from key stakeholders around a business case for change and work with existing process owners to plan and execute against the established roadmap.
Lead and develop high-performing teams; must have at least 6 years of experience managing accounting teams in a growth-oriented environment.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
CPA or MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with:
At least 6 years managing accounting teams in a growth-oriented environment
Strong understanding of and experience with finance systems, including leading implementations in a project management capacity
Background in multi-divisional and multi-national corporate environments (preferred)
Ideal Experience
Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance

Pursuit has a hybrid work environment, with three days per week (Tuesday – Thursday) in the Denver office and two days remote.
