Restaurant Associates is the industry’s leading provider of dining and event catering for museums, performing arts centers and corporations. This role is for a Sous Chef supporting the Culinary Department at a facility, working with the Executive Chef to develop menus, supervise and prepare food items, and assist with ordering. Position Title: Sous Chef Salary: $78,000-$80,000 Reports To: Executive Chef Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures for the account Assist with planning and creating menus Produce and execute catering events Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with the company marketing and culinary team Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent experience Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training Catering experience a plus High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook; Internet) Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities ServSafe certification - highly desirable Benefits
