Cross Country Assistant (All Levels) Coach position is offered at American Canyon High School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. The coach should be committed to developing young athletes both on and off the field. Applicants must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention, as well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District HR required documents. The season begins in August and runs through November; some off-season activities are expected. The coach receives a booster stipend at the end of the season. Must be willing and able to work with ACHS staff, student athletes, parents, administration, and the American Canyon High Athletic Booster Club. Must have basic knowledge of: 1) Character-building aspects of sports and core values of sportsmanship and good character; 2) Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached; 3) Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management, and the rules and strategies of the sport.
