Touro University California invites applications for the faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in our new Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. The successful candidate will be required to hold a bachelor’s degree and be registered in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, and/or Vascular by ARDMS, CCI, and/or ARRT. The position involves didactic teaching (lecture and lab), mentorship, precepting, exam proctoring, interdisciplinary education, and participating in academic and service responsibilities at the College and University. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work with, educate, and mentor future sonographers on our Vallejo campus, located in the beautiful Bay Area. Development and delivery of curriculum, including exam item writing and proctoring Preparing for and teaching courses each semester Developing assessment plans to ensure course effectiveness Mentoring Touro University DMS students Planning and conducting academic advisement sessions Participating in admissions process Participating in advisory board meetings Serving on College and University committees Attending departmental meetings Engaging in continuing education activities Performing other faculty duties as assigned by the program director or dean Contributing to research activities, presentations, publications, grants, clinical trials, and scholarly work Providing reports and documentation as requested Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution; Master’s preferred Licensed by ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer Teaching experience preferred Strong commitment to professional development in sonography Research experience or interest preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Active participation in professional societies (e.g., SDMS, AIUM, SVU) Personal integrity Core Competencies
