Allied Universal is hiring Fire Life Safety Directors to oversee a Business Center located in the Hudson Yards Area of Manhattan. Position Type: Part Time Work Shifts: Morning, Afternoon, and Evening Work Days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Must exhibit excellent customer service skills; interaction with the general public, client, and staff is required Hourly pay rate: $32.95 - $33.95 / hour DailyPay Available - Get paid before payday Allied Universal is hiring a Fire Safety Director. The primary mission of the Fire Safety Director is to protect life and property through the building's fire safety plan, including management of the Fire Command Station and supervision of the fire brigade, floor wardens, deputy floor wardens, and building evacuation supervisors. The Fire Safety Director candidate acts as a liaison to the NYC Fire Department during emergencies. Minimum Requirements
Candidates must possess an F85 or F89 Certificate of Fitness (NY Only) Skills and Competencies
Ensure that all life safety systems and related equipment are fully functional Ensure that all floors have fire safety teams including Fire Wardens, Deputy Fire Wardens, and Building Evacuation Team members Conduct fire alarm drills and maintain a written log of critiques to identify potential weaknesses in response time or life safety systems Provide clear direction, information, and assistance to client visitors, guests, vendors, and employees in a professional, pleasant, and courteous manner, including during emergencies Assist building security staff in the visual inspection of visitor, vendor, and employee access badges/identification cards to verify authorized holders Maintain surveillance and report any suspicious persons and/or packages Perform CPR/AED and basic first aid if required Physical and Mental Functions
Stand or walk constantly (up to a full shift) on various surfaces Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds Run as needed Constant use of hands/arms for reaching/handling/grasping/fingering; use of phone and administrative tasks Constant use of eyes; observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions Constant mental alertness and attention to detail for prioritizing and following up on assignments Qualifications/Requirements
Qualified applicants will meet the following: High school diploma or equivalent At least 18 years old Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of personnel and the general public Ability to prepare written reports and logs; computer skills may be required Ability to read and understand operating procedures and instructions Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment Successfully complete a background investigation and post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test Maintain current active status of required licenses at all times while on duty Exceptional customer service and communication skills Flexibility to adapt to changing environments Intermediate computer skills for utilizing innovative wireless technology at client sites Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality Neat and professional appearance Ability to provide quality customer service Ability to handle both common and crisis situations calmly and efficiently Read, understand and clearly speak English Ability to work under high volume and public interaction Equal Opportunity
