Human Neuroimaging Faculty Position in Alzheimer Disease at Rutgers

Overview
The successful candidate must have current active federal funding and a research program using human neuroimaging methods to study Alzheimer disease and related dementias. Responsibilities
Lead and develop a well-phenotyped dementia risk cohort within the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer's Center at Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) and RWJMS. Provide scientific leadership in neuroimaging research related to aging and dementias; mentor junior investigators and trainees; collaborate with neurologists, neuropsychologists, and neuropathologists; participate in multidisciplinary research efforts; lead and contribute to manuscripts and grant proposals; engage with study participants, community, and public policy leaders; and contribute to the development and execution of cohort studies and associated data analyses. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent terminal degree. A research program with currently active federal funding. Preference for Associate Professor level or higher, but superb early-career investigators with NIH funding and strong potential for independence will be considered. Physician-scientists are encouraged to apply; clinical credentials are not required. Cultural and language competency and experience with underserved communities is a plus. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience in neuroimaging research relevant to Alzheimer disease and related dementias. Track record in molecular neuroimaging (amyloid and tau imaging) is advantageous. Ability to develop and lead an independent extramurally funded research program and contribute to major grant proposals. Academic credentials qualifying for appointment as an Associate Professor at Rutgers with a record of extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications on Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Experience in multidisciplinary collaboration and mentorship of students and junior investigators. Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to convey research to academic and non-academic audiences. Ability to engage with study participants, communities, and public policy leaders. Strong interest in developing the cohort and contributing to cutting-edge science. Additional Responsibilities: Lead development of a well-phenotyped dementia risk cohort. Provide leadership to ensure robust, harmonizable neuroimaging protocols. Lead extramurally funded research leveraging the cohort data. Collaborate on manuscripts and grant proposals using cohort data. Support future funding for data collection and address high-priority research questions. Contribute to community outreach and research communications. Mentor and develop staff, postdocs, physicians-in-training, students, and others. Compete successfully for extramural funding. Benefits
