Responsibilities
Lead data-related aspects of a well phenotyped dementia risk cohort and provide leadership in data analysis protocols.
Head a program of federally funded, data-driven research in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and contribute to the cohort’s development to better understand mechanisms and risk factors.
Lead and collaborate on manuscripts using cohort data; oversee collection, curation, and management of clinical, genetic, imaging, digital and biomarker data.
Develop predictive models and algorithms to identify risk factors, disease markers, and potential therapeutic targets; implement machine learning models to improve prediction, diagnostic accuracy, and monitoring of disease progression.
Contribute to grant proposals to support data collection and address high-impact research questions; participate in mentoring, training, and professional development of staff and junior investigators.
Mentor investigators and contribute to multi-disciplinary collaborations; ensure strong data governance within HPC/cloud environments and secure computing.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Ph.D., M.D., or MD/PhD in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, or related fields; active federal funding is preferred; NIH-funded candidates at Associate Professor level or above prioritized; physician-scientists encouraged but clinical credentials not required.
Strong expertise in data analysis and machine learning; experience with diverse data types (clinical, genetic, imaging, digital, blood biomarkers); experience with large-scale longitudinal studies; cultural or language competency with underserved communities desirable.
Requirements include ability to lead independent federally funded research and establish a program; track record of extramural funding and peer-reviewed publications addressing ADRD; strong mentoring and collaboration skills; excellent communication skills.
