Overview
Director of Graduate Studies - Randolph College invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Sport and Exercise Studies. The position requires a Ph.D. or ABD with completion date prior to July 2026 in exercise science, kinesiology, or related fields. Start date is July 2026; the report date is early August.
Responsibilities
Teach a range of undergraduate courses including exercise physiology, wellness, nutrition, strength and conditioning, kinesiology, and other sport and exercise related courses.
Engage in scholarly activities, serve on college committees, participate in college service, and advise sport and exercise studies students.
Contribute to the development and growth of the sport and exercise studies program; opportunities for new course development.
The College’s TAKE2 curriculum includes four seven-week sessions in an academic year to provide immersive learning and flexible scheduling in a student-centered environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required education and experience: Ph.D. or ABD with a completion date prior to July 2026 in exercise science, kinesiology, or related fields.
Preferred: Teaching experience in higher education.
Must be authorized to work in the United States; pre-employment criminal background checks.
A letter of application should include a teaching philosophy statement, research interests, curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts, and a list of three references with contact information.
Applications received by October 17, 2025 will receive priority. A request for letters of recommendation will be made to finalists of the virtual interview phase. At least one reference should address teaching effectiveness.
