Case Manager - Recovery Support Specialist, Crisis Care Counselor (RSS) at Association for Individual Development (AID). The role supports individuals in recovery from mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders, providing crisis intervention, mobile crisis response, and case management to promote community stabilization. Responsibilities

The Crisis Care System is a continuum of crisis response services including a 24/7 Crisis Line and Mobile Crisis Response. This position serves as a Crisis Care Counselor-Mobile Recovery Support Specialist, leveraging lived experience in recovery to support clients and meet program goals. Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and suicide risk assessment to callers via phone through AID’s 24/7 crisis line; manage and assess incoming Mobile Crisis referrals from 988, local police departments, and other community services. Offer in-person Mobile Crisis Response when a person is in a mental health crisis that cannot be de-escalated over the phone, across Kendall and Southern Kane County. Collaborate with a team of service providers to ensure client needs are met and promote community stabilization. Maintain documentation required for crisis intervention services provided on the phone and in the community. Essential Job Responsibilities

Attend scheduled work hours and be flexible to meet client and program needs; respond to calls during shift and when dispatched; provide Crisis Line Coverage when not providing Mobile Response. Provide effective individual crisis counseling, crisis intervention assessments, and consultation with family members, case managers, and other outside resources as appropriate. Use intervention tactics to reduce symptoms and provide crisis safety planning and resource follow-up in collaboration with clients and other providers. Complete documentation timely and accurately to meet program funders’ requirements and administrative rules; include billing notes and required assessments per Rule 132 standards. Maintain open communication with agency staff and partners; navigate Cx360 to open client profiles and document crisis line activities; manage MCR-T records in accordance with guidelines. Attend clinical supervision monthly or as assigned; meet monthly productivity standards as applicable. Provide case management follow-up to link clients to services and maintain ongoing client records; offer crisis consultation to other AID staff as needed. Support client wellness through coaching, counseling, motivational interviewing, and information/referral services; ensure cultural competency and diverse population understanding. Maintain and develop crisis resources, participate in trainings, and promote awareness of mental health internally and externally. What we provide (Full-Time)

Education

High School or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred; bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Licenses/Certifications

CRSS (Certified Recovery Support Specialist) certification preferred, or certification requirements should be met within one year of hire and maintained throughout employment. Experience

Some mental health experience preferred; candidate must be in recovery from mental health illness or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder. Other Requirements

Physical: ability to communicate in-person, by telephone, and in group settings; frequent standing and walking; ability to drive and work overnights; travel to client homes and community sites. Equipment: standard office equipment; field/work locations. Additional requirements: flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, rotating holidays; rotating on-call shifts; reliable transportation; valid Illinois driver’s license; ability to work with diverse populations; may work at multiple locations; complete required trainings within 30 days of hire (First Aid, CPR, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, CEUs, and other trainings).
