Overview

The Ingest/Transmission Operator oversees all inbound and outbound media, content, and news gathering. Responsibilities include monitoring on-air product quality, ensuring compliance with government regulations, troubleshooting equipment, and preparing programming for broadcast. This position will be governed under the National IBEW broadcast agreement for CBS television stations. Duties & Responsibilities

Monitor and manage inbound/outbound media using various formats like fiber, Skype, and LiveU Ensure timely response to breaking news stories and oversee broadcast delivery Collaborate with team members and network staff, providing support as needed Identify and insert broadcast-quality video/audio into news bulletins on short notice Handle broadcast media and feeds, manage video/audio switching, and operate recording equipment Utilize Servers and monitoring facilities, and manage media delivery Ingest media to servers and manipulate files for editing purposes Perform basic fault finding and raise issues when necessary Support live studio production requirements and provide excellent service to media operations clients Monitor and control video encoding/decoding systems and troubleshoot incoming/outgoing systems Prepare backup plans for equipment or transmission line failures Perform other duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of server-based news environments, hardware, and software Understanding of news, current affairs, and attention to detail Proficiency in Quality Control tools and processes Familiarity with digital/video formats, ingest workflows, servers, and broadcast production Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and remain calm Understanding of broadcast production workflows and technical standards Knowledgeable about broadcast formats, server systems, and diagnostic tools Capable of working individually and collectively in a fast-paced news environment Organizational skills and punctuality Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred in a technical field 2+ years of Transmission experience preferred What We Offer
