OVERVIEW
The Ingest/Transmission Operator oversees all inbound and outbound media, content, and news gathering. Responsibilities include monitoring on-air product quality, ensuring compliance with government regulations, troubleshooting equipment, and preparing programming for broadcast. This position will be governed under the National IBEW broadcast agreement for CBS television stations. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and manage inbound/outbound media using various formats like fiber, Skype, and LiveU Ensure timely response to breaking news stories and oversee broadcast delivery. Collaborate with team members and network staff, providing support as needed. Identify and insert broadcast-quality video/audio into news bulletins on short notice. Handle broadcast media and feeds, manage video/audio switching, and operate recording equipment. Utilize Servers and monitoring facilities, and manage media delivery. Ingest media to servers and manipulate files for editing purposes. Perform basic fault finding and raise issues when necessary. Support live studio production requirements and provide excellent service to media operations clients. Monitor and control video encoding/decoding systems and troubleshoot incoming/outgoing systems. Prepare backup plans for equipment or transmission line failures. Perform other duties as assigned.
