full-time Senior Plumbing Engineer

for our

Dallas, TX

office. This position is suited for an engineer who wants to work within a team-focused local office for a large world-wide engineering firm. This opportunity involves providing technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of plumbing systems on infrastructure, building, and construction projects in the public and private sector. Responsibilities include research, design, concept development, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and integration of plumbing systems, fire protection and suppression, and fluid flow equipment, systems, and processes. Substantiates reports and documentation regarding installation, construction, and operation specifications. Ensures responsibilities are delivered with quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact

Determine well-defined methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from the physical work site, surveys, blueprints, schematics, data, technical drawings, data-driven reports, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction. Perform professional plumbing engineering work and conduct research and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions, equipment, resources, building, infrastructure, and usage; install plumbing, fire protection and suppression, and fluid flow systems to conform with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits. Develop construction and installation plans, specifications, and cost estimates; prepare construction safety and phasing plans, and update infrastructure layout plans that require coordination with owners, architects, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients. Incorporate advanced technology, modeling techniques, concept development, design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies to ensure proper installation and functioning of equipment and systems; implement future-ready solutions with plumbing design standards. Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, and professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, assist with laying out installation of equipment, calculate costs and quantities of material/equipment/labor, and ensure project work conforms with specifications, permit applications, schematics, compliance documentation, and regulatory/technical memos. Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, technical drawings, spreadsheets, and illustrations for interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses. Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate measurements, statistical analysis, and reporting. Assist with development and scoping of medium-sized projects. Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers. Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations to improve, prevent, control, restore, or address design and/or construction issues or opportunities. Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of data obtained during site investigations, offering input with action plans for moderate- to high-level risk installations, equipment and system operations, and/or mitigation activities. Prepare and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). Comply with regulatory requirements pertaining to data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, and record compliance and retention. Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, architects, and clients in a confident and professional manner. Remain current in latest plumbing engineering techniques and practices. Work collaboratively with other engineers, architects, and building/infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded projects. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline. 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior plumbing and mechanical design experience. Engineer in Training Certification. Proficient knowledge of plumbing and mechanical engineering principles, practices, processes, design/build, and application to project work. Experience with building and infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; involvement in rehabilitation and new design projects. Working knowledge of relevant plumbing/mechanical codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements. Ability to perform technical computations and understand plans and specifications; compare to regulations. Project management experience with small to mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses. Ability to plan and conduct inspections and investigations on construction and design of facilities, applying applicable regulations and policies. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences. Self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment. Ability to work independently and provide guidance to junior team members with QA/QC adherence. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and related design software, plus technical writing and data analysis tools. Ability to direct others in the field to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Proven track record of workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP health, safety and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules that may extend beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Engineering. Essential Professional Licensure/Certification. Experience managing small to mid-size projects. LEED AP Certification. Healthcare experience. About WSP
