Cyber Security Network Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Cyber Security Network Engineer in Birmingham, AL. Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Network Engineer to join our security team in the banking and financial services sector. In this senior-level role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced network and cloud security solutions with a primary focus on Palo Alto firewall administration and Zscaler cloud security platforms (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX). You will troubleshoot connectivity issues, collaborate with end users on resolution, and ensure proper integration of security tools across hybrid cloud environments (AWS and Azure). Responsibilities : The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in modern security tools, network architecture, and enterprise-level defense-in-depth strategies, along with proven experience prioritizing competing demands and solving complex problems independently. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-impact environment where advanced technical skills directly support the security of critical banking systems and data. Requirements : 10+ years of related IT and/or Information Security experience; Bachelor's degree preferred Relevant certifications (CISSP, Security+, PCNSE, Zscaler certs, etc.) strongly preferred Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Zscaler platforms required Advanced knowledge of modern security tools, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure network security controls Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills The pay range is $80.00/hr - $90.00/hr.
