Overview
Position Overview The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing site-specific safety and health programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and foster a strong safety culture. This role serves as a key member of the plant leadership team, partnering with Operations, Quality, Sanitation, and Maintenance to ensure all employees work in a safe, healthy, and compliant environment. Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Programs: Develop and implement site-specific Health & Safety programs to meet operational needs and corporate safety goals. Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety considerations into operational decisions and processes. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Provide guidance to management and supervision on hazard prevention and regulatory requirements. Hazard Assessments & Risk Mitigation: Conduct operational hazard assessments and recommend engineering controls and protective measures. Identify and correct non-compliance issues through corrective action plans. Training & Development: Lead OSHA compliance training, First Aid certification, and operational hazard-specific training. Train employees on emergency response procedures and safe work practices. Lead injury management and Workers’ Compensation claim investigations. Identify trends in incidents and implement preventative measures to reduce risks. Safety Culture: Champion initiatives to build and sustain a proactive safety culture. Facilitate safety committees and employee engagement activities related to safety. People Management: Manage local Safety & Health staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. Implement a sitewide business plan for safety and health performance improvement. Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Lead corrective action projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
Required: High School Diploma or GED 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations Proven experience with hazard assessments, incident investigations, and risk mitigation Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills Seniority level
