Under the direction of the school principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Instructs and supervises students in a variety of school-related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. Responsibilities
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Participates in professional development by updating Cisco training as necessary. Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment. Plans and implements instructional programs that adhere to system wide goals and priorities and meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students. Prepares and documents appropriate lesson plans, based upon adopted curricula, to teach instructional objectives. Delivers the Cisco curriculum as designed. Creates an instructional environment that is conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents. Meets with students and parents. Maintains complete and accurate student academic, attendance, and disciplinary records. Monitors and assesses students' academic progress. Oversees the appropriate use and care of textbooks, instructional materials, facilities, and equipment, especially the specialized Cisco related equipment and network. Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, paraeducators, parents, and community members in the education of students. Promotes program to potential students. Fosters an atmosphere of professionalism and support while being a role model of the networking industry. Attends staff meetings. Serves on various committees. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, And Experience
Experience and education commensurate with requirements for Maryland Educator Certification or Licensure required. Teaching experience preferred (student teaching acceptable). Related industry experience. Licenses and Certifications Possession of a Maryland Educator Certificate appropriate to the area of assignment. Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Educator License appropriate to the area of assignment. Cisco-related industry certifications and/or course work (CCENT, CCNA, CompTia Security +, CompTia A+). Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge and expertise with computer equipment operations and software applications. Knowledge of curriculum, effective instructional techniques, instructional materials and equipment. Strong human relations skills and the ability to maintain relationships and open communications with business partners and other stakeholders to identify real-world applications of content. Effective organization and communication skills. Flexibility in program implementation strategies. Skills in preparing, implementing lesson plans and instructing students. Skill in communicating with students, their parents, administrators, and others. Skill in supervising students and managing behavior. Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, coding, and related applications. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents and staff. Ability to maintain confidential information. Physical And Environmental Conditions
The work of this class is generally performed in a school environment. Work may require the ability to move around the school and classroom. Conditions Of Employment
Requires attendance at after-school and evening meetings and events. Citizenship, Residency Or Work VISA In United States Required GRADE : 10 - Month Pay Scale - Valid until January 2026 - 10 - Month Pay Scale - Effective January 1, 2026 SALARY:
$60,600 - $120,717 (Valid Until 12/31/2025)
$61,026 - $120,717 (Effective 1/1/2026) OTHER COMPENSATION:
Position may be eligible for relocation bonus, extra duty activities pay, or other student activities pay as defined in the applicable Bargaining Unit Agreement. FLSA STATUS:
Exempt RETIREMENT:
Eligible for the Maryland State Retirement System. BENEFITS:
