Responsibilities
Lead the efforts to welcome and successfully integrate all new acquisition partners into the various AJG and National Accounting Center functions within the time-frames and compliance requirements of AJG policies and procedures.
Review Due Diligence Reports and work with various teams to outline and determine the top pre and post-close priorities. Partner with Operations for process changes that need to be implemented.
Lead weekly accounting calls with acquisition partners and finance teams to ensure integration tasks are on track.
Facilitate meetings and manage deliverables related to all specialized accounting and billing workflows identified in the Business Process Review meetings. Establish check points with NBC and NAC management to ensure go-live readiness.
Host training sessions including the Finance Policy and Sarbanes-Oxley presentation.
Lead the acquisition partner to clean up agency management system receivables and payables per Finance Policy requirements.
Partner with AJG Treasury to onboard the new acquisition bank accounts to ensure timely reporting and compliance.
Manage acquisition bank account inventory to ensure timely closing of legacy and interim bank accounts.
Assist with accounting month-end close, journal entries and account reconciliations for new acquisitions.
In conjunction with Financial Systems, ensure smooth system conversions from start to finish including verification of data integrity for acquisitions.
Other Functions
Contribute to a cooperative team environment in which cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet corporate and department deadlines and goals.
Provide training and mentorship to other team members.
Other duties as assigned.
About You Required
Bachelor\'s degree and 5 years related experience required.
Overnight and/or day travel may be required up to 25 percent of the time.
Exceptionally strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Preferred
Bachelors Degree preferably in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 4 years of insurance brokerage systems experience or equivalent; experience as a Brokerage Controller or Brokerage Operations Manager or equivalent area of responsibility highly desirable.
Experience with preparing/reviewing journal entries and financial reports.
Project Management experience desired.
Commitment to performing all tasks in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley, Corporate and Department policies.
Intermediate skills in Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
Ability to learn and become proficient in EPIC and various Insurance Agency Management Systems.
Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize issues.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Ability to motivate, influence, lead and adapt training skills to others abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail, deadlines, and time management.
Demonstrated customer service focus with a keen sense of urgency in assertively working to solve system problems.
Strong teamwork orientation; willingness to help larger team meet goals and responsibilities.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff including Corporate Executives, Branch Management; Professional assertiveness is key to this role.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Working Conditions
Overnight and/or day travel required approximately 10 percent of the time.
Ongoing ability and commitment to work additional hours as needed to meet individual, team and department goals including assistance to peer managers as needed.
Ability to be flexible with non-core hours when compliance deadlines and challenges dictate the need for urgent attention.
Ability to manage stress and peak period demands.
