Overview

As a Sr. Solutions Architect at Databricks within the Field Engineering org, you will partner with our customers to design scalable data architectures using Databricks technology and services. You will engage with customers' technical leads to establish yourself as a trusted advisor and drive tangible outcomes throughout the sales lifecycle. You will work with teams across Databricks and report to the Field Engineering Manager. Responsibilities

Work with Sales and other essential partners to develop account strategies to grow customers\' usage of the Databricks platform. Establish the Databricks Lakehouse architecture as the standard data architecture for customers through technical account planning. Build and present reference architectures and demo applications to help prospects understand how Databricks can achieve their goals and land new use cases. Capture the technical win by consulting on big data architectures, data engineering pipelines, and data science/machine learning projects; validate integrations with cloud services and 3rd party applications. Promote Databricks-inspired open-source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Koalas) across developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars. What We Look For

8+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role with expertise in at least one of the following: Big data engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka); Data Warehousing & ETL (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS); Data Science and Machine Learning (pandas, scikit-learn, HPO); Data Applications (Logs Analysis, Threat Detection, Real-time Systems Monitoring, etc.). Experience translating customer business needs to technology solutions and establishing buy-in with stakeholders at all levels. Experience designing, architecting, and presenting data systems for customers and delivering production solutions. Fluent in SQL and database technology; development experience in Python, Scala, Java, or R. Desirable: Experience building solutions with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP); degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research). Travel to customers in your region up to 30% of the time. Compensation and Benefits

Actual compensation depends on factors including skills, experience, certifications, and location. Total compensation may include annual performance bonus, equity, and listed benefits.
