Overview
Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) is looking for an experienced Windows Client Systems Engineer with a deep knowledge of Windows desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure. Our mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy to use services to our internal customers in support of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government customers. We are seeking a motivated engineer to deliver results for our customers. This is a hands-on role where your daily responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing existing services, including Windows build/deployment capabilities, fulfilling requests for application packaging/deployment, and handling break/fix scenarios for all technologies the team manages. You will work closely with the Security Compliance team to ensure security compliance across desktop environments. You will have a strong and diverse technical background and the ability to approach problems with confidence and ingenuity. A successful Windows Client Engineer will drive the design and implementation of new services, automate existing ones, and provide escalation and mentoring for junior team members. Arlington, VA (HQ2). This role is based in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia. Security clearance: The candidate must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. The position may require opting into a commensurate clearance for each government agency involved in AWS work. Provide first line of support to the IT Service Desk Team Operations and maintenance of RSCI infrastructure including virtual and physical hardware Security compliance including hardening/patching of OS and desktop applications Manage server metrics and monitoring services Create and update system documentation for engineering, operations, and support teams Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher, or Cloud+/GICSP/GSEC/SSCP certification 5+ years supporting Windows operating systems, with at least 4 of: AD, DHCP, DPM, PowerShell, Email workflow, SCCM, SCOM, Windows OS, DNS, disaster recovery/business continuity Knowledge of basic networking concepts and troubleshooting Experience scripting in PowerShell or Python Experience administering, maintaining and operating Active Directory on Windows networks Current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance (US Government) 8+ years supporting Windows OS with at least 4 of the core competencies listed above Strong communication skills for creating technical documentation (SOPs, Run-books, Job Sheets) Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Meets Amazon leadership principles and technical depth expectations EEO statement preserved; willingness to pursue accommodations during application/hiring process if needed Compensation and benefits
