Overview The Systems Administrator ensures customer success in a fast-paced environment by identifying and remediating issues relating to information technology. This position is also responsible for identifying and driving system improvements. Technical support is the primary responsibility for the IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrator supports multiple customers in multiple locations for a variety of information technology practices. All requests for assistance are recorded and responded to via the helpdesk ticketing system.

Troubleshooting / configuration of computer applications and hardware

Windows OS and application updates and patching

Storage management

Telecom / softphone

Printing

Networking

3rd party application support

User profile maintenance and modification

User data recovery

Systems Administration

User creation and licensing

Cross systems permissions

Messaging security

CCTV support

MDMs

Network modification – rules / exceptions

Directory / permissions management

Tier one integrations

Backups

Other duties as assigned

Education & Skill Requirements

Minimum three years systems administration.

Associates degree or equivalent

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Capable of explaining complex procedures both verbally and written.

Comfortable approaching users to understand their requirements.

Ability to work and solve problems independently, on a team, and under the direction of IT management.

Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Able to read and understand schematics, signal flow diagrams, and architectural drawings.

Enhanced knowledge of current technology and trends in the information technology field.

Able to research, evaluate and recommend solutions based on an analysis of department needs and existing infrastructure.

Able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.

Able to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks to appropriate IT support staff.

Firm understanding of the following systems:

Microsoft Windows workstation and server operating systems

Microsoft Office applications

Microsoft Server Technologies

Active Directory

DNS

DHCP

Exchange

Teams

WDS / MDT

Server virtualization VMWare/HyperV

Encryption technologies

SentinelOne EDR

Analyzing error logs

Antivirus / Malware / Ransomware prevention and remediation

Conceptual understanding of the following systems:

Linux server operating systems

Cisco / Aruba / Ubiquiti WLAN APs & controllers

Fortinet / Juniper / Watchguard firewalls

Policy and scheduled action automations

Vendor licensing

Training
