We're seeking an experienced Senior Cloud & Systems Administrator to lead the management and optimization of a complex hybrid IT environment spanning on-premise infrastructure and Microsoft Azure cloud services. This role is ideal for a well-rounded systems engineer with deep expertise in both traditional infrastructure and modern cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain hybrid environments leveraging Azure and VMware. Manage Azure resources including VMs, App Services, Networking, Key Vaults, and backups. Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, SQL Server, and Office 365 services. Track performance, availability, and compliance using tools like Azure Monitor, vCenter, and Log Analytics. Oversee Rubrik, Azure Backup, and Site Recovery; perform regular DR testing and validation. Enforce access controls (MFA, RBAC), manage NSGs/firewalls, and support SOC 2, ISO, and NIST compliance efforts. Develop automation scripts in PowerShell, Python, or Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform) for patching, scaling, and reporting. Act as a senior escalation point, ensure SLA adherence, and collaborate with IT teams on tickets, change controls, and documentation. Monitor and manage Azure spending, optimize resource usage, and coordinate with vendors on renewals and escalations.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience administering hybrid infrastructures using Azure and VMware. Expertise in Active Directory (on-prem & Azure AD), Group Policy, and O365 administration. Hands-on knowledge of backup and DR tools (e.g., Rubrik, Azure Site Recovery). Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) and familiarity with IaC tools. Solid understanding of networking concepts including VPN, ExpressRoute, DNS, and firewalls. Experience supporting SQL Server and enterprise applications. Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication abilities. Familiarity with compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO, NIST) is highly desirable.
Compensation: $110,000-135,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
