Job Title:
Agentic AI Software Engineer Location: On-Site, United States — Washington D.C., St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, or Colorado Springs, CO Position Type: Full-Time W2, Direct Hire Pay: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00
As an experienced engineer, you know that artificial intelligence (AI), particularly Agentic AI and Generative AI, is transforming the world. We need your technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities to identify and develop opportunities for the use of AI agents to solve real-world business and operational problems that will help the company and its clients execute missions of national importance.
You will design and build new agentic AI products and offerings, integrating them into specific client missions, both within the enterprise business context and in operational use cases. You will collaborate with a community of research and experimentation leaders, software and IT operations engineers, AI and ML experts, data scientists, solution architects, systems engineers, and product owners to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions applicable across multiple client domains.
Responsibilities
Design and build agentic AI products and offerings; integrate them into enterprise and operational client missions.
Collaborate with research leads, software/IT operations, AI/ML experts, data scientists, solution architects, systems engineers, and product owners to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.
Integrate LLMs and multi-modal models with applications and user interfaces; develop RAG systems with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB).
Develop, deploy, and maintain AI agents using agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI.
Optimize LLM performance through strategic prompt design and engineering.
Distill complex technical concepts into clear summaries for non-technical business leaders and stakeholders.
Drive experimentation, evaluate emerging approaches/architectures, and contribute reusable patterns across client domains.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in software engineering, including leading teams to build customer-facing solutions and products
Experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment with security engineers, data scientists, ML engineers, and designers
Experience integrating LLMs or multi-modal models with applications or user interfaces
Experience building RAG systems with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB) and embedding models
Experience with AI agents or agentic solutions, including agentic frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or CrewAI
Ability to optimize LLM performance through strategic prompt design and engineering
Ability to distill complex technical concepts into summaries consumable by non-technical business leaders
Curiosity, motivation, and passion for experimentation and continuous learning at the forefront of technology
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience with modern AI capabilities in ML, including deep learning and LLM frameworks
Experience with AI-assisted development such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude Code
Experience with Google agent-to-agent communication (A2A) and Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Experience with infrastructure-as-code or cloud infrastructure/services (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Experience working with federal clients
Strong communication skills
Secret clearance
