POSITION SUMMARY:
The
Manager, Logistics Applications & Technology
will serve as the primary product owner and technical liaison for supply chain and transportation systems within the Business Technology organization. This individual will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of logistics applications—including
Transportation Management Systems (TMS) , telematics, CRM integrations, and carrier trading platforms—to support Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain functions. As a super-user and strategic enabler, this role ensures that applications are seamlessly integrated, highly reliable, and aligned with business needs. The Manager will drive cross-functional collaboration, lead vendor management, and champion continuous improvement to enhance visibility, automation, and efficiency across the logistics technology ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation, configuration, and continuous enhancement of logistics and supply chain systems (e.g., TMS, routing, load planning, telematics, visibility tools). Translate operational and business requirements into functional and technical specifications. Serve as the subject matter expert for application integration with ERP, CRM, and financial platforms. Oversee testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization of system features in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. IT Project Execution & Support Manage end-to-end project lifecycles for logistics technology initiatives, including planning, scoping, risk assessment, and delivery. Ensure system data integrity and accuracy through rigorous governance, documentation, and quality assurance practices. Provide Tier 2/3 support and act as the escalation point for system issues and change requests. Business Alignment & Stakeholder Partnership Partner with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain leaders to align applications with strategic business objectives. Provide post-deployment support, training, and knowledge transfer to business users. Champion adoption of new technologies by ensuring smooth user onboarding and operational readiness. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Manage relationships with logistics technology vendors, ensuring compliance with SLAs, contracts, and roadmaps. Collaborate with internal IT security and infrastructure teams to ensure system compliance, scalability, and performance. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Innovation Identify opportunities for process automation, operational optimization, and digital transformation. Monitor industry trends and emerging logistics technologies, incorporating best practices into long-term strategy. Drive innovation by proactively recommending and piloting new tools to improve efficiency and customer experience. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Information Systems, Business, or related field. Experience: 7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or business technology roles. Proven leadership in managing TMS and related logistics platforms. Strong background in application implementation, integration, and lifecycle management. Skills: Expertise in TMS, CRM, telematics, and logistics reporting applications. Excellent project management and vendor management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technology solutions.
