Specifics

This individual will join a team of two Information Governance Analysts (all in Chicago) and report to our Senior Manager of Information Governance (based out of our Houston office); they report to our Director of Records Management (based out of Chicago)

This individual will work on various data, file, and email projects – they will monitor all firm activity (examples: is anyone emailing themselves client documents from their work email to a personal email, is anyone uploading client data to the cloud without permission, etc.)

The information governance team handles a lot of different types of projects. Some project areas are insider threat, data loss prevention, compliance assessments against regulations and/or client requirements, deletion of records/data (this is a big area in the law firm world related to records management), and projects related to the integration of 5-6 records systems. These are just some examples – they dabble in many areas.

For example, the team is currently working on implementing an audit program to ensure sensitive documents are properly secure and filed in the appropriate workplaces. This will create an automated program so that appraisals and compensation are filed correctly. If the documents are misfiled, the proper security is applied. They are spearheading evaluations of prospective applications and completing POC testing.
