Overview
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Sr Principal Systems Engineer for the Sentinel Aerospace vehicle team, performing Aerospace Vehicle Requirements and Verification. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. Relocation assistance may be available. This role requires a Secret clearance and travel up to 10%. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package. The position is eligible for Northrop Grumman’s benefits package and a 9/80 work schedule. What You'll Get To Do
The selected engineer will be responsible for multiple tasks within requirements, verification, and interfaces for the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Segment. Tasks include interface definition, requirement decomposition, compliance tracking, verification planning and verification execution. Requirement development, decomposition, and refinement based on knowledge of the functional architecture and performance budgets Ensure architecture is consistent with requirements decomposition Verification planning for the AVE segment requirements, transitioning to verification execution, including development and review of verification artifacts, requirement verification reports, and management of the approval process Support environmental requirement development and test strategy Support TMRR execution including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Milestone B recertification Support incremental CDR execution culminating in an AVE CDR (CDR execution, RvC development, readiness assessment) Support flight design review (FDR) Support element system engineers in developing element-level requirements, verification plans, and CDR/IDR execution Collaborate across system functions and disciplines on Missile-related projects Basic Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer (T-04) level. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8 years of related experience; 6 years with Master’s; 4 years with PhD Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period 2 years of Systems Engineering experience required 2+ years working in requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) Preferred Qualifications
Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture or MagicDraw or other architecture modeling tools 4+ years of Systems Engineering experience Experience with DoDAF and UPDM or UAF Profiles Experience with complex system development on large programs Experience with flight hardware Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written Position Benefits
