As a member of the Digital Assets Risk, Controls, and Resiliency team, the primary focus and responsibilities will be to support the business in delivering high value products / solutions by assessing risks, considering mitigating controls and processes, and supporting the business’ compliance with applicable rules / regulations. You will also help the business advance the digital assets agenda across the enterprise – working closely with traditional lines of business with a nexus to digital assets, and working with stakeholders in regulatory relations, public policy and government affairs, legal, risk, compliance, and audit. We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director to join our Digital Assets Risk and Controls team. This role will be located in New York, NY or Boston, MA. Overview

Main responsibilities will include : Leads the risk identification and assessment process for new products and processes, advising product and operations teams on the implementation of controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with rules / regulations. Develops a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment, including U.S. and non-U.S. rules / regulations focused on the digital assets and banking industries. Serves as a trusted business partner to assist the business in meeting its requirements from other parts of the bank, including compliance risk assessments, control reviews, information security, sourcing, resiliency, etc. Assists fellow team members as necessary in carrying out firm-wide third party governance framework and resiliency protocols. Develops materials and participates in regulatory meetings, and plays a lead role in managing regulatory exams, including documentation requests and presentation materials. Maintains familiarity with industry best practices and seeks opportunities to implement as appropriate, as well as developing appropriate metrics and key objectives for the team. Resolves complex issues or inquiries from senior-level or individuals across the firm, as needed. Closely collaborates with colleagues in 2LOD (Risk and Compliance) as well as 3LOD (Internal Audit). Contributes to developing the training strategy for the Digital Asset Business. Performs BNY required Enterprise-Wide Risk Framework activities on behalf of the Digital Asset Business, as well as liaising with other areas within the firm on behalf of the Digital Assets Business. Qualifications

10+ years of experience; with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following functions : audit, risk, controls, compliance, operations, or legal. Proven experience navigating a new business or function at multiple levels, with an ability to immediately begin identifying potential risks and areas for improvement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary to develop effective materials and work with peers, executives, and stakeholders in functions / business areas across the firm. Experience leading and managing teams, including a focus on mentoring / coaching and goal setting. Several years of experience supporting entities or businesses in the digital assets, blockchain / DLT, banking, or related technologies space. Proven experience assessing the design and effectiveness of processes and controls. Demonstrated understanding of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation. Demonstrated experience reviewing, revising, and writing policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and implementing solutions. Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams comprising product managers, engineers, operations, as well as risk and compliance. BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department / team performance, and market factors.
