Summary
With Direction and supervision from Special Assets Department head or Chief Credit Officer, manages the restructure and workout of various loan-types including CRE, C&I, SBA and other asset types. Prepares, or assists in preparation of credit authorizations in accordance with bank's policies and procedures for presentations to senior credit personnel and/or credit committees. Prepares thorough analysis of business and/or financial statements and presents facts and is expected to provide analytical opinions, as appropriate on the remediation or exit strategy of existing defaulted borrows. Engages with external counsel as needed.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Interacts directly with relationship managers, loan officers and customers regarding restructuring and workout of commercial real estate loans and commercial and industrial loans.
Proven track record of enhancing risk management and optimizing recoveries within a commercial banking environment.
Strong communication and management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with outside counsel. Experience with foreclosure process.
Expert knowledge of related bank regulations.
Maintains an assigned/delegated loan portfolio as the primary relationship officer.
Must prepare accurate financial statement spreadsheets and debt service analysis derived from business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
Prepares accurate Credit Authorizations in conjunction with loan officers, and presents a complete and thorough analysis of borrowers.
Interacts independently, without direction, with clients to request financial information and other relevant documents to complete financial analysis.
Reviews and enforces loan agreement covenants for verification of the borrower’s compliance thereto.
Accurately prepares financial projections as required.
Maintains an accurate, up-to-date tracking log of all activity and credit arrangements in process.
Collects industry information relevant to existing and proposed borrowers using internal and external sources.
Consults and advises the relationship manager(s), the Chief Credit Officer, and other Credit Administration officers on credit structure, pricing, collateral and other credit consideration issues.
Works with clients regarding past due payments/loan maturities.
Conducts trade and reference checks on customers/prospects.
Reviews documentation to ensure compliance with Bank policy and procedures.
Performs special projects as designated by Supervisor, Manager, Relationship Manager, President or Chief Credit Officer.

Minimum Qualifications
Strong, intermediate knowledge of accounting principles, tax return analysis and analytical interpretation of balance sheet, income statement analysis, and cash flow.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and other financial analysis software programs.
Intermediate working knowledge of loan documentation.
Must be able to handle a strong volume of work flow from various sources.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all bank and client information.
A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
