Senior Financial Reporting Accountant
As a financial reporting senior accountant on the Insurance Accounting team, you are a crucial team player contributing to the team’s objective of timely and accurate financial reporting. You are responsible for your assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tasks, as well as ad-hoc or special projects that arise, which are typical given the regulated nature of statutory financial reporting. What You'll Do:
Assist with month-end close duties, including preparing journal entries, researching expense variances, communicating findings, and resolving data discrepancies. Perform monthly account reconciliations, ensuring account activity and balances align with expectations, and investigate and resolve reconciling items. Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and exhibits accurately and on time. Complete and submit regulatory filings accurately and timely. Work cross-functionally with other departments to understand data requirements and propose solutions to improve accuracy of general ledger balances and transactions. Fulfill internal and external auditor requests. Identify, implement, and document process improvements. Complete ad-hoc projects or tasks as assigned. What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent. 5+ years of relevant accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and with various departments. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills, capable of identifying issues and recommending improvements. Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. Experience in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, with willingness to work extra hours as needed. Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle and Hyperion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. CPA license and insurance industry experience are a plus. #LI-DF1 The starting pay range for this position is $90,400 - $120,300.
