Advantage SCI, LLC, a trusted leader in national security and mission support services, is on the lookout for a dynamic Controller to join our HQ team in Alexandria, VA. This role involves overseeing all accounting duties and ensuring compliance with GAAP and government contracting standards (FAR, DCAA, DCMA, IRS). Reports to the CFO. Clearance: Top Secret. Location: Alexandria, Virginia.

Summary Of Duties As the Controller, you’ll oversee, direct, and manage all accounting duties (Payroll, Accounting, Billing, AP, Treasury, Banking, Taxes, Audits, and regulatory compliance for a federal government contracting business). You will prepare and present financial reports and analysis, maintain internal controls, and create budgets and forecasts to mitigate risk and ensure accurate reporting. Develop strategies to accomplish finance operations and ensure compliance with GAAP and government contracting standards.
Hours: Monday through Friday at the HQ Corporate office; 40-hour work week or longer if needed to meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal, communication, Excel, accounting system implementation, problem-solving, organizational, and supervisory skills are required.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, job status reports, client profitability, budgets, interim forecasts).
Manage finance and accounting functions (Payroll, Billing, AP, Treasury, Taxes, 401K, Audits) and supervise department staff.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure timely payroll processing and bank reconciliations; manage debt payments.
Maintain chart of accounts and internal controls; develop internal audit processes to ensure policy compliance.
Provide budgeting, cash flow planning and analysis; monitor variances and report to management.
Communicate financial status to senior leadership; manage relationships with lenders, vendors, and customers.
Support proposal development with pricing and cost documentation as required.
Collaborate with other departments to improve process efficiency; provide financial analyses for investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a Top Secret Clearance
CPA required
8 years of relevant experience in Federal Contracting; 3-5 years of managing finance staff
Ability to work independently, as a team member, and as a leader
Ability to work under fast-paced conditions and meet tight deadlines
B.S. in Finance or Accounting or 12 years of equivalent experience
Experience with DCAA and DCMA; strong knowledge of FAR
Experience with various contract types (cost plus, T&M, FFP, hybrid)
Experience with invoicing, cost submissions, ICE Model, and contract close-outs
Experience with government contract vehicles (GSA Schedules, IDIQs, Task Orders)
Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Business Central, DFAS, WAWF, and related portals
Working Conditions Able to sit and work at a computer for extended periods; able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally; moderate noise with distractions.
