Overview
Senior Accountant position at BlueHalo, an AV company. The successful candidate will support the controller with month-end closing, revenue recognition, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role serves as a local point of contact for financial questions and requires timely, accurate information and adherence to accounting regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in a timely manner. Assist with completing all revenue billings. Support the Controller in managing the revenue recognition process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies. Optimize accounting processes and procedures, including SOX control compliance, to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation. Answer questions related to payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, and accounting to direct team members to appropriate resources as needed. Compile and perform initial review of monthly financial statements and reports. Compile financial and/or statistical data and perform analytical analyses as requested by Leadership. Assist in gathering data for budget development and forecasting. Assist in gathering data for year-end financial audits, cost reports, and various tax filings. Assist in gathering data for annual reports including disclosures and surveys as directed by Leadership. Collaborate with team members on special projects and analyses to strengthen the accuracy of the financials. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or related field. 3-5 years of prior relevant experience. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with financial software and tools. Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of prior relevant experience. Proficient in Deltek CostPoint, FloQast and Government applications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information clearly. Work Arrangement
This position can be performed in either a hybrid or remote work arrangement. While we welcome qualified candidates from across the U.S., we have a preference for individuals located near one of AV’s major sites — Simi Valley, CA; Albuquerque, NM; Dayton, OH; Huntsville, AL; or Washington, D.C. Proximity to these locations allows for more regular in-person collaboration when needed. Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000. Our compensation package includes health insurance, life insurance, disability, company holidays and paid time off, parental leave, 401(k) company match and contributions, professional development reimbursements, and other work/life programs. The final compensation will depend on factors including experience, location, and internal equity.
