Senior Tax Analyst
to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, ASC 740 experience and a CPA. The
Senior Tax Analyst
role is a hybrid position with 3 days / week in office (usually Tue, Wed, Thu). This is a client direct hire position. Base pay range
$89,000.00/yr - $123,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Manage timely preparation and submission of various tax filings, including sales and use tax, property tax, payroll tax, and federal tax returns. Support evaluation of tax-related impacts on financial statements related to tax planning transactions, providing guidance aligned with relevant accounting standards and clearly communicating requirements. Calculate and review income tax provisions in accordance with applicable accounting standards, including interim effective tax rates, deferred taxes, taxes payable, and return-to-provision reconciliations. Prepare and review tax basis balance sheets, income tax footnotes, and tax-related disclosures for quarterly and annual financial reports. Assist in financial modeling and forecasting for various scenarios, including tax controversies and strategic planning initiatives. Monitor and analyze emerging issues in accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements, including proposed tax law changes and their potential financial statement impact. Conduct research and draft technical memoranda to support tax financial reporting positions, including uncertain tax positions and valuation allowance considerations. Ensure adherence to internal controls related to income tax financial reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support tax compliance during acquisitions and transitional activities. Work closely with internal tax and accounting specialists as well as external auditors to facilitate tax-related processes. Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university Tax Analyst II - 3 years of job-related experience Senior Tax Analyst – 6 years of job-related experience, including ASC 740 experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), or Master’s of Science degree in Taxation (MST) Advanced Excel skills Experience with OneSource Income Tax platform Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles and ASC 740 Proficient knowledge of consolidated tax return regulations and multi-state tax concepts Ability to balance technical knowledge with practical application of rules Ability to research and propose resolutions on tax issues Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make quality decisions in a timely manner Acts as trusted advisor who is easy to work with, having the ability to communicate complex concepts and analyses in ways that are meaningful and useful to both tax and non-tax professionals as well as various levels of management Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a deadline driven environment Proficient with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group provides clients with accomplished professionals to support finance, accounting, internal audit and tax teams.
