Position Description

The Manager of Risk Management is a key member of the SWHS leadership team and will be responsible for leading our hospitals Patient Safety-Risk Management Plan. He/she will ensure that a framework is established and utilized to lead risk management programs that are proven to deliver tangible operational and strategic business value, supports a Just Culture, and promotes exceptional patient-centered care.

Qualifications Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited College or University in related field

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in healthcare risk management.

Minimum 3 years leadership experience in related field required, acute care experience

In-depth knowledge of risk management processes including risk identification, risk reduction, mitigation, claims management, and contract review

Knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards, Centers of Medicare Conditions of Participation, California acute care regulations, and the functions of the California Department of Public Health. Ability to respond and develop plans of correction/evidence to regulatory agencies preferred

California license in field of specialty, as applicable. Registered Nurse highly preferred.

Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or equivalent required.
