Commission-Only About the Role
As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you'll be responsible for originating first mortgage loans and developing relationships with referral partners to support new business growth. Your role involves working independently, engaging with clients and referral partners outside the office, overseeing loan transactions, and ensuring smooth processes through effective communication. Meeting sales goals, providing excellent customer service, and staying updated on mortgage regulations are key to driving our success in the mortgage lending market. What You'll Do
Originate first mortgage loans for sale to the secondary market and meet individual sales goals. Develop and maintain a referral network through prospecting, cold-calling, networking, and community outreach. Spend over 50% of your time outside the office engaging in business development activities. Manage loan transactions from processing to closing, ensuring excellent communication and customer service. Respond to inquiries within 24 hours. Meet with applicants to determine suitable loan programs. Analyze financial information and complete preliminary qualification. Present loan applications and documentation within 72 hours. Ensure compliance with TILA, RESPA, and MDIA regulations during disclosures. Achieve volume goals set by sales management. Attend sales meetings and training sessions. Maintain knowledge of mortgage regulations and ensure compliance. Utilize security measures to prevent fraud and theft. What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 1-3 years of residential mortgage lending experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and loan origination systems. Strong understanding of mortgage regulations including SAFE Act, Dodd-Frank, HMDA, TILA, RESPA, ECOA, Fair Lending, and Fair Housing Act. Ability to build and maintain a referral network. Strong analytical skills for financial data analysis. Ability to manage loan transactions from start to finish. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Capability to handle complex issues and meet deadlines. NMLS required upon hire. What We Offer
