Summary
We are looking for a Controller to join the Plant Accounting team on-site in Camfil USA\'s corporate office in Riverdale, NJ. The Plant Controller supports the plant with financial reporting, financial analysis and guidance on shop floor production accounting. The Plant Controller reports to the Director of Manufacturing Accounting. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication to partner with senior management. The candidate should be a proactive, analytical thinker skilled in financial analysis, budgeting, corporate finance, business modeling, and performance evaluation.
Essential duties and responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements, maintain journal entries, and post to general ledger. Coordinate the monthly close process within 3 days of month end.
Plan and coordinate plant budget activities in alignment with corporate policies.
Understand key business drivers and ensure budgets are accurate, comprehensive, timely, and tied to detailed sales forecasts.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts within 5 days of month-end; review reserves for reasonableness.
Deliver monthly detailed analysis on plant performance with commentary and materials on Sales Analysis, Variances and Expenses.
Provide detailed financial reports and analyses to local management; work with plant manager to interpret trends and financial results.
Support plant manager with insights to enable profitability; develop variance reports to drive process improvements.
Monitor plant activity with daily dashboards focusing on bookings, sales and inventory; perform variance analysis.
Respond to ad-hoc analyses; anticipate variances and propose alternative strategies with plant management.
Review trial balance line items for root causes; identify manufacturing cost trends affecting results.
Prepare annual standard cost roll up; oversee cost rolls to align standard costs with actual production costs.
Ensure strong internal controls; participate in inventory control initiatives to ensure accurate reporting.
Collaborate with management to identify, report, and analyze operational KPIs driving financial results; standardize KPI measurement across plants.
Oversee capital expenditures development and analyze spending; monitor asset capitalization and disposal.
Lead periodic financial training with production management on policies and opportunities for improvement.
Compile data, prepare reports, and file yearly property tax returns.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
5-10 years of dynamic leadership experience in Finance, Accounting, or financial data analytics and reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, management accounting, corporate finance, and analytics.
Experience building analytics/models and identifying key drivers.
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, financial modeling, and analytical skills.
Creative problem-solving abilities and strong communication.
Ability to engage with all levels of the organization and work in a growing company.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Work environment
Office, warehouse, and plant environments; use of PPE in certain areas; capable of accessing each department at facilities.
