Overview
Leading cosmetics manufacturer is searching for a strong Senior Cost Accountant reporting to the Controller, North America. The role is responsible for supporting the accounting and financial reporting environment by determining the cost of production, tracking inventory levels, and evaluating the performance of operations.
Base pay range $95,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting of cost of goods sold, inventory evaluation, and margin variances.
Process and post transactions within the ERP system related to production, materials, and revenue.
Review and reconcile inventory reports and work closely with Plant personnel and purchasing to ensure accuracy of physical and perpetual inventory.
Review WIP and FG inventories for obsolescence reserve.
Plan, coordinate, and manage annual physical inventory count.
Record plant material, labor consumption, and variances within ERP system.
Work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and IT to maintain data accuracy and improve ERP utilization.
Ad hoc financial analysis of financial and operational metrics to support business requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, Accounting or Finance
3+ years of related accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment/business
Strong understanding of manufacturing (cost) accounting, variance analysis, and establishment of cost estimates (standards)
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
