Signature Federal Credit Union
To manage the operation of the Collection Department; protect the Credit Union's assets by controlling delinquency and minimizing charge offs; identify members who are in need of financial assistance and work with those members to mitigate the risk to the Credit Union. Ensure proper collateral/liens are properly secured. Manage department to ensure staff are in compliance and efficient.
Responsibilities
Oversees the daily operations of department by maintaining delinquency and charge offs within the stated goals, while controlling collection expenses. Ensure proper collateral/liens are properly secured. Oversees and manages all legal or lawsuits, bankruptcies pertaining to collections. Effectively manages staff to obtain Credit Union and departmental goal and responsible for hiring, scheduling, training and monitoring work performance. Motivates employees through incentives and other programs to assure overall efficiency of the department. Conducts frequent meetings with staff to address issues and/or concerns. Conducts annual performance evaluations. Assures that collateral and OREO properties are disposed in a timely manner and at the best possible return. Prepares monthly board reports and submits those reports by the stated request date. Effectively manage the collection of share and loan balances, to include monitoring legal expenses with respect to collection. Recommends and creates new processes and procedures that will enhance the overall performance of the department. Ensures there is coverage by tracking and approving leave appropriately to ensure proper in-office department and phone coverage at all times. Qualifications
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. (1) A bachelor\'s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor\'s degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Work involves motivating and influencing other leaders and stakeholders to accomplish key organizational objectives. External contacts are vital, not only for the success of the position, but the success of the organization overall. Work involves making material presentations to the Board of Directors, community leaders, and business leaders. Must possess managerial skills to effectively manage employees. Must be able to diplomatically, professionally address and resolve problems and discuss as they arise. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have basic computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Need to have basic mathematics skills to calculate certain ratios and understand their meaning.
