The candidate will be an experienced financial reporting professional responsible for the review of quarterly and annual financial statements for a multi-billion-dollar hedge fund client. The role requires a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and Broker Dealer reporting requirements and collaboration with the client’s Financial Reporting team to ensure compliance with these standards.
The candidate will join Northern Trust Alternative Fund Services (AFS), a team that specializes in administering assets of hedge funds, private equity managers, managed account platforms investing in alternative strategies, and alternative fund of funds.
What You Will Be Responsible For The Financial Reporting Associate Specialist will be responsible for:
Lead the annual year-end audit process, including planning and coordination with the client and external auditors as well as internal team members; review and delivery of financial statements and footnotes under both US GAAP and IFRS
Research, analyze, and document new accounting pronouncements and their impact on current or proposed transactions/policies
Dedicated to servicing a global, multi-strategy hedge fund with several billion dollars in assets under management
Identify, develop, and execute on process improvements including major technology initiatives to increase the scalability of financial reporting processes and provide solutions to client mandates
Acquire content knowledge to function as the team Subject Matter Expert on financial reporting topics and act as a point of escalation to ensure accuracy and responsiveness
Complete quality checks and reviews on year-end financial reporting packages and reports
Develop and maintain detailed process documents for financial reporting topics
Work collaboratively and provide ongoing financial reporting support for both clients and internal teams
Communicate client expectations and deadlines across business units involved
Consult with clients on a regular basis to ensure satisfaction

5+ years of accounting experience with emphasis in Financial Reporting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of Workiva preferred but not required

Salary Range Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
