Overview
Home Care Contractors LLC is a growing residential construction and remodeling company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper. In this role, you will oversee the daily financial operations of our business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency across all projects. Your work will play a critical role in supporting our project teams with financial clarity while maintaining the integrity of our financial systems.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage financial records including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
Perform general ledger entries, monthly reporting, and bank reconciliations
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Process payroll and maintain employee financial records
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly financial reports
Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and government regulations
Assist in budget planning and financial forecasting
Prepare and file taxes
Oversee contract billing and project-level financial tracking
Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to support financial transparency
Manage financial reporting for city, state, and federal contracts
Coordinate with external auditors during audits
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required)
Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the construction industry
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or other accounting/ERP systems
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with construction project management workflows
Knowledge of cost accounting and job costing methods
