Overview The Human Resources Business Partner at Affinity Group serves as a trusted advisor and consultant to region leadership, promoting alignment between HR initiatives and business objectives. This role provides strategic HR guidance, manages complex employee relations issues, and maintains legal compliance while fostering a culture of high performance and employee engagement for the Region. The business partner collaborates with other regions to advance alignment of Corporate HR practices, strategies, and initiatives. Effective execution contributes to the company’s strategic objectives, supports a positive work environment, and drives organizational success.

Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partner/Consultant: serves as the human resource leader for the assigned regions, partnering with the region's senior leadership and providing HR guidance and support.

Supports leadership in region-specific organizational development and talent strategy.

Collaborates with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to support corporate HR practices, strategies, and initiatives across the region.

Business Planning Support: works with the CPO and regional leadership to develop long-term and annual HR plans.

Works with regional leadership on HR matters relevant to the region’s annual operating plans.

Performance Management: provides day-to-day guidance, coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions; facilitates performance evaluations in alignment with corporate programs; ensures timely, thorough reviews for all region associates.

Leadership & Development: collaborates with the Director of Learning & Development on regional L&D initiatives; identifies and addresses talent development needs; evaluates learning programs for effectiveness and alignment with regional goals.

Workforce Planning: guides regional restructuring, workforce and succession planning; collaborates to address talent gaps and future staffing needs; participates in promotions and re-assignments.

On/Off Boarding: provides guidance on discipline, promotions, and terminations; partners with hiring managers to ensure positive onboarding and long-term retention; ensures termination rationale is sound, justified, documented, and compliant.

Legal Compliance/Policies: maintains knowledge of employment laws across supported states; promotes compliance; collaborates with the CPO to design policies and communications across the employee lifecycle.

Associate Relations/Support/Engagement: assists employees with HR inquiries; organizes engagement events; serves as a payroll/benefits resource when needed.

Project Management/Flexibility: contributes to special projects and adapts to evolving business needs; demonstrates readiness to take on diverse HR tasks.

HR Administration: conducts exit interviews, reports feedback to leadership; maintains organized personnel files and compliant record-keeping.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required.

5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources role, including at least 3 years in a strategic HR business partner or similar role.

Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and legal compliance.

Proven track record in talent development, workforce planning, and employee relations.

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) strongly preferred.

Proficient in HR technology platforms (HRIS, HCM, ATS, LMS eLearning systems).

Working Conditions

Occasional business travel (less than 20%).

Typical office hours Monday through Friday (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.).

Exposure to a matrixed, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
