Job Description
This position troubleshoots and communicates documentation discrepancy issues with customers and foreign origins. The ideal candidate audits commercial documents, applies harmonized tariff schedule codes for accurate duty assessments, and ensures all federal requirements are met. Key responsibilities include handling general customs brokerage activities, general office, and data entry tasks. Responsibilities
Preparation of customs entries and forwarding freight to designated locations, involving interface with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers. Prepare Customs entries and follow-up with the clearance process on all entries prepared. Communicate documentation discrepancies to clients and supervisors. Coordinate freight delivery to designated locations. Resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues. File entries to customs via GBS-CM in a timely and accurate manner. Scan entries into the imaging system, meeting allotted and sensitive time requirements. Prepare reports/presentations and analysis using various software packages and databases. Daily follow-up on documentation discrepancy issues, requiring the ability to troubleshoot and communicate effectively with customers and foreign origins. Establish and maintain client relationships. Participate in a weekend schedule on a department rotation basis and work holidays as required by the operation and account needs. Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent. Basic knowledge of customs operations, laws, and regulations, as well as other government departments. Basic computer skills. Basic understanding of the HS system. Candidate must agree to a 6-month lock-in period from the date of hire to complete all required training, followed by a 1-year product lock-in to ensure continuity and proficiency in role-specific deliverables.
