A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking an HR Director to oversee HR strategy and daily operations for 100+ employees. This role manages recruiting, training, payroll, and compliance while fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
Lead HR strategy in line with organizational goals
Oversee recruiting, onboarding, training, payroll, and benefits
Ensure compliance with California labor laws and nonprofit regulations
Drive employee engagement, retention, and DEI initiatives
Support leadership with workforce planning and succession planning
Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in HR, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
5–7+ years HR leadership, ideally in nonprofit settings
Strong knowledge of California labor laws and compliance
Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
